Shielding

Light Fabrication Supplies a number of Foil, Shielding and Insulating Products and Components such as:

• RFI/EMI shields for electronic components from simple foil wraps to multi-layered laminates die cut to exact specifications, and delivered in loose pieces or on rolls or sheets, replacing metal boxes “houses”, mesh or other inefficient methods.

• Custom laminations of any thickness copper foil with any tape. Since we slit our own thin foil we can make any thickness or width foil tape, and we also sell “plain” copper, aluminum foil, mumetal, stainless and brass foil.

• Wire assemblies and small harness assemblies. We have also custom designed soldering equipment for shields used in printed circuit boards and power supplies. We make shields where the copper shielding foil has an edge margin either cuffed or wrapped all around, after cutout for soldering. Samples available of various materials.

• Electrical grade kraft papers custom and precision slit to width, and fishpaper, Ragtex, and Nomex in rolls or die-cut. We can also provide these materials pressure sensitive with an electrical grade adhesive that will not corrode.

• Cut-to-length & stripped wires, and subsequent kitting.

• Heat shrinkable polyolefin tubing and extruded Teflon PFA tubing and FEP tubing fabrications, cut-to-lengths, etc.

Polyester Tapes For Shielding Applications:

• Custom slit widths for unique splicing of bandoleered electronic components

• White or black PET circles for hole covers with color-coding, used by injection molding shops, where tear and puncture resistance is needed during secondaries, while providing the qualities of the high temperature adhesive

• Skip slitting or perforated, running the length of the product, for butt splicing while adding a burst factor.

Foil Tapes & Custom Foil With or Without Adhesive Aluminum, Copper, and Others:

• Non-standard widths and less-than-case quantities of conductive and embossed foil tapes.

• Electrical foil tape die-cut shapes, in rolls or pieces. Example: for paint masking with electroplating applications, where a conductive and /or high slip surface is desirable.

• We can make any thickness foil tape for customer needs; Examples: 5 mil copper foil with a conductive adhesive, 10 mil aluminum with a double coated foam adhesive for cushioning, 2 mil thick stainless steel 3” wide with 2 strips of adhesive wide along the edges to meet a shielding requirement.

• We slit RAW copper and aluminum foil from widths .05” up to 12” and hold tolerances as well as needed.

Electrical Tapes & Specialty Items:

• We are an authorized distributor of 3M Electrical tapes and stock popular tapes in log roll form, i.e. 3M #56, 54,5, 27, 10, etc.

• We can also slit to precision widths and supply back split liners in roll form or cut-to-length strips to ease the usage of the products.

• Static control products – die-cut shapes of Velostat foam and bags.

• Mastic supplied in special shapes. We currently do converting for some private label brands.

“Tri-Ply” Electrical Tapes:

• To meet European VDE requirements, this product is used in transformer coil/bobbin insulation wrap applications.

• Product completely insulates coils and does not make a mess vs. liquid applications. This product achieves a desired thickness by using layers of the same tape. Typically with 3M #10 tape but any 3M Electrical Tape can be utilized.
