Case Studies

Customer Problem: A medical device OEM needed to attach their sensors to patients with a strong skin friendly adhesive that would not irritate the skin after leaving on for days.

Fabricated Solution: We sourced the material to create a double-coated medical foam tape cut to size with extended release liner for easy removal. We put medical adhesive on the patient side and a permanent industrial adhesive on the component side. The result was an inexpensive disposable sensor attachment. Our components were sterilized and delivered without any Light Fab markings on the box.

Customer Problem: A manufacturer of diagnostic testing equipment needed to adhere filter media and other materials in narrow widths to a rigid plastic for subsequent testing in labs.

Fabricated Solution: We built a custom laminating machine to slit and "zone" laminate materials together in our clean room. We then cut the laminated roll of materials into finished test strips for the customer to be sent to labs around the world.
