Case Studies

Customer Challenge:

A Navy shipyard needed a faster way to attach metal hardboard hangers to the interior walls. Traditionally an epoxy was used that took hours to apply and dry before insulation panels could be hung.

Light Fab Solution:

We worked closely with 3M and the customer to specify a VHB tape that met all specifications and passed extreme bonding tests. 3M™ VHB™ 4941 Tape was chosen, which we die cut and assembled to the metal hang tabs. Final product is "peel and stick" product that eliminated the messy glue and reduced installation time by 98%.
